Hi everyone!
It has been a while since the last website update. I am sorry for keeping you in the dark and not really communicating much, but I've been busy in the meantime working on a new version of sw-unlimited-db.com.
Initially when building the website I never anticipated the size it would grow to and I faced many issues regarding performance, scalability and just being able to add new features to the website. Therefore I decided to rewrite the frontend part of the website from Net Core to Nuxt (yes, this might not mean much to the people that aren't active in those worlds). This should allow me to work much faster on new features and give you a more pleasant experience.
And today is the day that this new website is going live, you are most likely already reading this article on the new website! So what does this mean for you? Next to a nicer experience, I did already implement some new features for the website:
- You are now able to filter on decks which are published in a given date range (like in just the last week)
- Each card now has a pricing chart where you can see how the prices have moved throughout the lifetime of the card
- The homepage now also has a component which prices went up/down the most in the last 24 hours
- There is now a curve chart while you are building your decks
- Additionally, the deckbuilder has had its performance improved a ton. It used to feel quite slugish because of the number of cards shown
- Cards that aren't legal for a given format aren't shown in the deckbuilder now
This is all very exciting, but it also comes with some risks. While there has been a test website for a bit to see if anything broke (and I am very happy that people have been trying it out), something could have still slipped my radar. Additionally, I don't know how the website will react to the number of people who normally frequent the website. Therefore, if you spot any issues, please report them in the Discord (https://discord.gg/ESpP2CU4g5). This is the best way to get in contact with me and also just to talk about the game.
